I took just one photo of the band Punch. Other amazing bands I saw: Beyond Pink, Glasses, Reconcile (though they were not as nice as when I saw them two years ago, promoting their merch a million times, telling the audience to 'shut up, motherfuckers'), La dispute, Glasses, Unrestrained and Positive Youth.
Furthermore I ate Vegan hamburgers, swam at the pool, got punched in the nose, ate icecream, hung out with the Germans and danced at the D.I.S.C.O like a maniac. Some guy said: how cool, you're the only one of us not drinking tonight and you're the biggest partymaker of all. WIN. I saw old friends again and made new friends as well. There no words to describe the awesomeness of Fluff Fest so lets just get on with the pictures of Prague.
The first evening I arrived in Prague I went to a show, a post-Fluff Fest-show at klub 007, a small basement where a lot of punk- and hardcorebands play.
Beyond Pink from Sweden, most awesome band ever! That's what the singer of Unrestrained said as well, some guy responded: yeah, they're pretty good for girls. "That's like saying, yeah that band reconcile, they're pretty good for guys." My point exactly.
Unveil from Germany
Reconcile from Argentina
Unrestrained from Vermont, so refreshing to see a band again who actually have things to say.
Epic Indian Curry binging at Beas. You paid your meal per grams, apparently I took a meal which the chef said was 'for a pretty big guy.' Well that makes me a pretty big guy then I guess.
Luke, I am your father
Franz Kafka's birthplace
Chill hangout at a bookstore. They had all kinds of lovely books on history, politics, bikes, philosophy and literature from different countries.
Accidentally bumped into the museum of young art. I got in for free because I said I'm an art student, which technically isn't a lie.
Those were actually dead cats and dogs on the floor. 'Oh how sad' is the common reaction people give to it. Why make the distinction? People don't usually say that when there's a deerhead on the wall or a piece of steak on your plate.
The story behind this painting: During the second world war there was a great glorification of nazism and certain leading figures of that era. The artist of this wanted to make something of which the people would have stepped out of this and which would have made them stop perfectionizing it. It's not a statement against homosexuality, but it's something the people of that era would have considered repulsive, it's a contradiction on its own. What would be the greatest humiliation for a great nazi leader of that time? It would probably be people seeing an image like this.
Hmmm indian curry. Omnomnom.
I went to see the Swan Lake at the Prague State Opera. It wasn't definitely of the same level as the Russian ballet but I still enjoyed every moment of this play. For some strange reason the Czechs consider the five front row and the five back row seats the least good seats in the hall so I had a seat way up front for the cheapest price. Niiiice!
I went to the museum of Communism and definitely learned more about the topic, i find it so interesting!
Anti-American Propaganda
If you got sceneproblems, I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but Edge ain't one.
The Jewish cemetary
Finally hung out all by myself in a park, read in Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov and then took the bus back home. Boooo, one thing though is that I always find it nice to come home, take a long shower and sleep in my own bed again. This feeling doesn't usually last long but thankfully I'll be heading to Israƫl in a month!
